So far, there have been three main phases to my life. When I was a child, I really felt and believed that I could do, or become, anything I wanted to when I grew up, if only…. I wasn’t quite sure. But it really felt like it had something to do with clearing mental blocks. That persistent thought, ”If Only,” led me to the Personal Development field, a degree in Psychology, Transcendental Meditation, a career in Metapsychology, trauma counseling, and everything from hypnotherapy certification to clairvoyant training programs and energy healing. As you might imagine, after seven whole years in the personal growth field, I felt like a completely different person. I felt so good that I decided to take on the biggest desire I had throughout my entire life. The dream that the “if only” always used to sabotage for me. Become a Rock Star!
Sounds pretty funny, I know, but like most of us, when I first heard a cool song on the radio as a kid, it brought up majestic emotions I didn’t even know I had. I needed to learn how to create that. It was my life’s true passion. I was already an amateur musician, but I wanted to be great! I went to Berklee College of Music, got a second degree, wrote songs, and played in bands for a while, went back to school for a Masters in Music composition, recorded CDs, music videos, taught 30 students a week, judged songwriting competitions, wrote orchestra scores, and performed every style of music you could imagine.
Two unexpected things came out of this. One, I learned a heck of a lot about marketing and owning my own business along the way. Just to survive the steep climb up the dark and ominous cliffs of the music industry, you have to learn to do yourself what would normally be done by an entire staff of management, marketing, publicity, booking, promotion, and production professionals put together. And two, I became an entrepreneur. In the music biz, you are on your own. You make it happen, find the money, make the connections, or you watch your dreams, and your survival, just fizzle away. But just when all the pieces were in place, I paid my dues, and had a self managed tour of Ecuador and Europe in the works, I saw big sinking ships on every horizon.
That’s when the tower fell, Tower Records that is. When the largest CD store in the country, Tower Records, went out of business, and all of my students told me they never pay for CDs anymore, that they download everything for free, I knew I had to make a change quick. I was already aware that the major labels had been loosing profits for years due to Internet piracy, but here was tangible proof that the entire industry was collapsing around me. 60% of industry profits (CD sales) were now lying dead in the unmarked graves of our music history books. I needed to get out fast just to save my shirt.
I sent a mental smoke signal out to the universe asking for guidance. Three days later, a total stranger, who had seen one of my music flyers and thought I was ambitious, called me about a Network Marketing business opportunity. I almost hung up on him! But he seemed so sure of himself. I agreed to meet him for a cup of coffee. He did a quick presentation, and showed me a video on his laptop. I knew that this was the type of money I needed to make, I saw tremendous value in the product, and I felt that he could help me learn this entirely unfamiliar, and frightening, business quickly and efficiently. The scariest part, for me, was the suit and tie. Ahhh! I pulled together all my inner strength to get past that, and I joined a few days later.
The story of how I went from a struggling MLM rep, who couldn’t sponsor a prospect to save his life, to becoming one of the most sought after Network Marketing Coaches in the entire Industry, is covered on my video at Kevin Thomas Marketing. Go there now and hear how just when I was ready to give up completely on Network Marketing because it just wasn’t working, I discovered the gold mine. I cracked the code! I linked up with the top earners in the industry, abandoned the old-fashioned and outdated MLM methods, and learned to think outside of the box. Learn how you can profit from these well kept secrets, never have to chase a friend or family member again, and have prospects calling you every day wanting to join your Network Marketing business. I appreciate your journey. I have also studied psychology, metaphysics, have my BA, have worked as a reporter, writer, videogropher and teacher.
Recently I joined a MLM company I really believe in but have had the exact experience you have explained, going nowhere fast!
I have been researching different offers that promise to jumpstart the process & streamline things, even for someone like me with little network marketing experience or computer skills.
So far, your site is most impressive & there are no “negative” comments that I could find.
You seem to have integrity, skill, talent & a desire to help others. This is why I am going to join your team & learn to be a leader & money making entrapreneur as well.
Mahalo (thanks) for what you are doing.
